General Orthopedic Surgeon
Overview
Fulton Montgomery Medical, P.C. was established through a partnership between St. Mary's Healthcare and Nathan Littauer Hospital to ensure local access to specialty care. Fulton Montgomery Medical, P.C. is actively seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible General Orthopedic Surgeon to join our expanding regional orthopedic practice in Amsterdam, NY. This is an opportunity to build a thriving practice while working alongside a collaborative team of fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons, advanced practice providers, rehabilitation professionals, and dedicated support staff. The incoming physician will primarily practice in Amsterdam while providing care across two clinic locations within the partnership. The organization is flexible in considering fellowship-trained Total Joint Orthopedic Surgeons, general, or foot and ankle, and open to others.

- Approximately 1:4 call. Spine surgeon participates in the call schedule. Additional compensation available for excess call responsibilities.

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary $641K - $712K commensurate with experience. Competitive MGMA-aligned base salary plus productivity bonus (wRVU model), sign-on bonus and performance incentives. Additional compensation for excess call. Flexible sign-on bonus and Early Commitment Bonus available for qualifying candidates. Relocation/transition assistance Typically $10,000-$25,000. Approximately 8 weeks of paid time off / Generous Paid Time Off. $5,000 CME allowance plus 40 hours of CME. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans with employer contributions, and malpractice benefits. Potential eligibility for loan repayment programs due to HPSA designation.
The Work & The Fit
- Board Certified / Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
- Must obtain New York State medical license prior to start date
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with completion of an accredited orthopedic residency program
- Prior experience in Bone & Joint Surgery, Adult Reconstruction, and/or Total Joint Replacement preferred but not required
- Strong clinical judgment, surgical expertise, and excellent communication skills with patient-centered approach
- Collaborative and team-oriented
- Interested in helping grow orthopedic services
- Comfortable practicing in a community-based setting
- Motivated to build long-term relationships with patients and referring providers
